Hey everybody.

So, here's a sum up. I'm Canadian and Lebanese (Canadian by birth, Lebanese from my Father), moved to Lebanon, studied, lived, married, had a child, our son has the Canadian citizenship and passport (Applied and Received in Beirut), and now I moved back to Canada to continue life here in a more stable environment, my son and wife are still in Lebanon and I'm looking to sponsor my wife to bring her here.

While filling out the application, I stumbled twice. The first and main one was if I need to get a Civil Extract for EACH and EVERY member of her family? Or just a Family List / Family Book? (2i5raj 2ayd fardi for everybody or just an 2i5raj 2ayd 3a2ili).

The second one's that I couldn't find whether the documents should be translated and notarized by the Foreign AND Interior ministry? Or just one? And which one if only one?

I hope you guys can help me out here. I tried calling the IRCC but I can never get through to the help desk.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

"Family members" refers only to the spouse and children of the applicant that are not already Canadian citizens/PRs.

Documents must only be translated and notarized once. The only reference I found in the checklist was "Lebanese civil status documents must be certified by the chief of the civil status section of the relevant Mohafazat." Nowhere did I see anything about the Foreign or Interior Ministries in Lebanon.

Hah, that's great! Because they're 7 siblings and 2 parents, so that'd be one hefty translation bill :P.

Thanks for the quick reply!
