Hi,

I am an Indian citizen and my husband is a canadian citizen. I am soon going to apply for a spouse visa. I find that my Birth Certificate does not have a name in it. It only has Date of Birth, Place of Birth and Father's name. Will this Birth certificate be accepted for immigration or do I have to provide additional information. If I do have to provide additional information then what should it be?

Thanks!

Your name is not on the birth certificate anywhere? What is in the field for the name? Is it blank?

If your name is not on there, I can't imagine this being acceptable to CIC. You will need to request a new one, assuming something was registered under the name you are currently using.

It very simple
your father or mother...needs to sign a sworn affidavit..which says the following..

"his or her name" with Proper address and say on the sworn affidavit this date (your date of birth) I gave birth to a female child (you) and we named the child after (your name)
explain your situation to any Indian lawyer...Not having a name is common on Indian birth certificate. because the hospital register the brith most of the time..Child is given no specific name. My sister had a similar problem...The registrar wrote "baby girl" under her name.
And once you have the sworn affidavit from your parent(s)..you need to attached it to your original birth certificate. If the certificate is not in english/french..you need to attach a translated version from a notary

Hope this help
