Either you or your wife must be in Canada in order to submit a PR application for your child. You have a two options:

1) You can travel to Canada first and submit the PR application for your child. Once the application is approved, your wife and child can travel to Canada.
2) If you want to travel together, then you should apply for a TRV for your child. If the TRV is approved you can travel to Canada together and file the PR paperwork once you arrive. If the TRV is refused for your child you can try applying for a TRP (temporary resident permit). If the TRP is refused as well, then either you or your wife will have to travel to Canada first and submit the PR application paperwork. Once the PR application is approved and the PR visa issued, then your child will be able to come to Canada.

Thanks scylla for your prompt reply....

We intend to proceed with the second option you have mentioned , however we would like to know
1. What are the procedures to be followed once we reach Canada?
We plan to move to Alberta(Calgary/Edmonton)
2.Where do we submit the application (CIC-Mississauga/CIC -Alberta)and on what grounds?

Can you guide us so as to which forms we have to submit for the dependent child PR

Thank you once again....

Start here, Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

1. Fill out forms, gather support documents and send off the app.

2. There is no inland sponsorship for dependent children, you must submit an outland app to Mississauga; it will then be sent on to New Delhi after sponsor approval.

Thanks for the reply....

Do you have any previous experience in similer cases.... as mine
If so was there any complications in the process sine the baby will be with us in Canada while we are processing the outlandPR application.

Regards...

There is no issue sponsoring outland while the child is in Canada. Just remember to maintain the child's status in Canada until the PR app is processed.

Thank you very much for the information ....

would like to contact you directly for any further clarifications...

Thanks once again..

Hi,

I had a similar case, our child was born outside Canada and we were willing to bring him with us.

What we did was, we submitted a TRV application with a cover letter to request our application as TRP if we're not eligible for TRP. Luckily, ND office granted us TRV in no time.

We successfully landed in Canada 2 weeks ago and now going to send sponsorship application for him soon.

Hi,

We submitted application for TRV - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

I submitted it online and included cover letter requesting TRP.

haii

Kindly send the link of sponsership forms as well and where are u submitting the applications in Canada.

Here is the application form - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-how.asp

We will submit it to missisauga.

Dear Awebus,
I plan to apply for TRV for our dependend infant. We are currently outside canada and have PRs. Would you please let us know which country you have applied for the TRV/TRP and the amount of time it took to process the visa for the infant?

Thanks for you attention.

Hi,

We submitted TRV file online to New Delhi. I worked a lot making clear documents. I got request to submit medicals within 24 hours and within a month, got visa stamped. (They asked us to submit medicals)
