Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

I called today and after 500+ tries I got through. Was 260th in line and was on hold for over an hour but finally got to talk to someone. My application had been received and was in progress but probably won’t be ready for my travel on July 10th so he advised me to call back on the 23rd so they can initiate a transfer to a local office.

I called in today and asked for a status update. They weren't able to provide me with an update or file number so they told me to call again next week once I've passed the 8 week mark and ask for another status update. I'm guessing it's going to be another 4-6 weeks???

Have applied to a different location (Gatineau) but now the normal processing time is 9 weeks and by the looks of it, it looks like it easily surpasses 12 weeks mark for a lot of folks.

Yup I think you're right with timelines possibly hitting 12+ weeks. My CC hasn't even been charged yet and I'm at week 7.

Mailed April 12th and cc charge May 8th.

Now I am thinking that I should have really done a walk-in (Maybe paid someone to stay in line for me lol)

Umm, I wonder if I should just book a ticket somewhere & ask them to expedite my application? Is this possible?

I am thinking of doing a trip to Amsterdam / London UK in October. Should I wait a bit more before doing anything?

Preface, I know they said not to make plans prior to receiving the passports but had to before I run out of hotels.

Attending a wedding in the US July 6th.

Submitted our passport application April 13th at Service Canada in Milton ON.

They said to expect the passports by May20th if not call the passport office.

Yesterday was the 9th week marker and been calling the passport office and it's just an automated message. Also did an online status update on their intake.

Any tips? Just hoping I don't my my best friends wedding.

I mailed my passport application to Gatineau on March 11th, then requested urgent processing because I needed to travel soon. I picked up the passport at my local office on May 5th. I still haven't received back my citizenship certificate.

Damn man this is so scary.

My transfer to local office was cancelled for some weird reasons and I requested the original documents back 2 weeks ago and still not here. Whats goin on. I dont know.

I applied 4th April, they charged my cc last night, so, hoping another couple of weeks to Go ?

reading recent post, it seen mail to difference location have difference time line.
usually you got CC about a month and 1-2 month before you got the passport back

I put in a transfer request to the Mississauga office on June 9 for travel June 24. I still haven't received a call, but they said I should receive one by June 20 or 21. We're getting really anxious here.

I completely understand the anxiety ! They really leave it down to the 11th hour
