Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Hello friends,
My guarantor wrote the city name in small letters and also wrote the statement I certify this is to be true likeness of xxx . In small letters on our passport application.
Do you think this will cause any problem or it should be okay ?
Please help me .

When do you receive the original certificate back to you?

How long does it take? Does anyone know?

I mailed my passport application to Gatineau on March 11th, then requested urgent processing because I needed to travel soon. I picked up the passport at my local office on May 5th. I still haven't received back my citizenship certificate.

Just sharing this recent experience
(Outside Canada).

Office = CHC Islamabad, Pakistan
Child Passport application(renewal), regular, non-urgent….

Application rec’d by Embassy: May 20th, 2022 via courier
New passport received: June 14, 2022 via courier
(Within 17 business days)

They sent the birth certificate and old/cancelled passport in same envelope back alongwith new ppt.

Glad to hear! I got it more than a week ago but my wife nothing. Both our CC charged the same day (April 18)

Will one of the parent get a verification call for the child's passport renewal? We sent the application by mail from US on April 29..CC charged on May 9th. It has been processed and got the file number.When I called today they told me it has to be examined by a passport officer and will take another 4-5 weeks..We have a travel plan for July 20th.

I thought that mail in will reduce the walk-in workload at the passport office. If I decide to walk in and don't mind lining up early, can I just do so myself and my family will only join me when I enter the gate? I have a family of 4 including 2 kids and don't think all of us should line up way too early in the morning. What's your experience with people queuing up for their family?

Yes you can line up without your family. However, I would suggest to call them just before 8am. This is the time that they start distributing the tokens. People have even hired someone to stand for them and they just arrive close to 8am.

My wife applied for her passport in person at the Service Canada office (Not the Passport Office) on 5th May. She got a mail-out date of 3rd June and the expected arrival date of 10th June. We are well past both the dates and she didn't get the passport so far. We are planning to visit Detroit next weekend (June 24). I'm not sure if we will get the passport in time for it. We tried calling the 1-800-567-6868 number to find the status and haven't been lucky so far. We have submitted a status request using the web form as well.

1. What is the current processing timeline for passport applications submitted in person at Service Canada locations (Non-Passport Office)?
2. How do we get the application expedited now? Is there a transfer process like the ones for paper applications?
3. Any tips and tricks for getting through the 1-800 numbers?

It would be helpful if you could share pointers and experience in getting your application expedited?

I have a similar issue and timelines. I spoke yesterday to an officer and he said he had 'no idea'. I applied from Toronto. It's basically the wild west right now.

You could try standing in line at a Service Canada location with your proof of travel but it is going to be stressful.

Are all original documents submitted in person at either Passport Offices or Service Canada will be returned on the spot? Thanks.

If in-person appointment, yes they return it after copying/scanning on the spot(at least thats the experience at passport office)

Just got this update from passport canada..

• Your application was received in March
• Passport Canada began the process on Apr 27th, but not completed

Did anyone get the same status? It does not even say that it is ready to print and its been 12 weeks now.

I sent in a new passport application delivered by mail to mississagua on May 16. I have plans to drive down to Washington state second week of July. No Credit Card Charge as of yet.
Does anyone have the payment line for passport canada?
