Canadian Passport in person timeline

Today in the morning, I went there too. what time did you go to the passport office? I read some of the post that for urgent passport application, they called guarantor and references .

If I gone today day 4 Nov 2022
Payed and in the receipt is day 9 Nov 2022 to pick up in person, so how they approved an application, without calling the guarantor???? Logical!
Today payment, after 5 days to pick up!

I applied regular service at Service Canada because I do not have proof of travel, and back then (late September), you had to have proof of travel to go to Passport Canada. Express service has been reliably fast even through the disastrous times, although stressful because people would usually receive their passports the night before their flights.

5 days is plenty of time for them to call a guarantor if they choose to do so for your application. Whether they will actually call and whether they would delay it if they don't reach your guarantor, one does not know. From the limited reports of experiences I have seen, they can call guarantor, some/all/none of your references, or none of the above. Not enough data to predict who will have guarantor/references called and who won't.

1-Never go to Service Canada. Passport office is the fastest way to get a passport
2- Express service today was accepting even formal agreement with some clinics abroad, or verbal emergency request. I showed my dental agreement as an emergency request, but the lady didn’t took it at all. She gave me right away the day 9 November to pick up the passport. For me , it was only Money question.

After 5 days , I’ll share my experience. The day 9 November 2022 is printed on my receipt of Passport Office’s payment.
Office should respect the day written because it is a contract. Hope I’m not wrong!

I applied for passport today at downtown Toronto service Canada passport office. I got there at 8.10 am and finished submitting application at 9.37 am. The officer said that the passport will be ready to pick up on November 21st. Thanks forum members for your help.

do you show air ticket or without ticket deposit application .

Did you go early morning or do they accept walk in throughout the day? Can i go for a walk in at 3 pm?

i am planning to go to Mississauga office.

Any thoughts on this one?

5 days are enough to inquire about the application. If they want they can call the guarantor and references between these 5 days. I am not an expert nor an employee of a passport office. I shared my opinion based on the posts i saw on the forum. I saw some of the post where they call the guarantor for urgent passport application.

My experience today; 4 Nov 2022
Passport Office; 74 Victoria Str , downtown Toronto
1- Time of waiting; 2 hours
2- Asked for express service; 210$ ( 160$+ 50$ ).
3- Emergency reason; going to fix my teeth, proof my agreement with a clinic in Turkey, no ticket payment
4- The clerk checked my application, took my 2 photos & copied my original OHIP card
5- Gave me back the genuine citizenship certificate
6- Gave me the receipt of the express payment & day 9 NOV 2022 to go and pick up in- person my passport.
Question : If the passport office decided for me day 9November, means that guarantor is not going to be called. Guarantor or references are only to fill the pages of the application????

Depends on which Service Canada. I know of a few people who got theirs in 2 weeks from Service Canada in Brampton. Meanwhile, I went to Service Canada in Ottawa on Sept 26 and still no progress.
