From reports here, varies by office - it seems most are still doing by 'priority' but some have much shorter lines and regular walk-ins might be served (subject to how many people waiting). Or they may ask if you have travel but be much less rigorous about checking/requiring documentation.

Note though some still seem quite busy (big city ones) with necessity to line up early and have travel documentation.

Yoyu'll have to read through the thread for most up to date, OR the websites of passport offices.

But if it's in person and I have a citizenship cert then do I still need to wait for the status to update?
I had an in person oath....on October 5th....was specifically told by the presiding judge that the files need to be closed which could take one or 2 days and only post that you could go to the passport office for the passports.

Thanks, mine's virtual anyway now and I've asked them to move it out till I'm done with all my travels

If you go early and just show a booking/itinerary it should be good enough. No need to actually buy anything.
Or get like a viarail ticket to NewYork and then cancel/refund it if it helps u get it faster
Or apply at passport iffice, lineup really early! Show proof that u need ppt for visa application.

In your case (in-person oath), did they send you the form to sign (after oath) as an email attachment (as part of invitation email), or there were no attachment on the email invitation?

I am guessing that they would not have sent any form as they would have given it you in-person.

Yes. The signature was done and the certificates were handed out right there after the oath.

You need to show travel proof only for emergency requests. For BAU, you dont need travel proof and they indicated in the counter that they are mailing the passports out in 2 weeks + 1 or 2 more to get it in hand. If you want to collect it in person, pay additional 20$ and collect it.

You can submit the docs either in Service Canada passport office (above timelines) or in regular Service Canada (add another 2 weeks). Eitherways go early and prepare to be part of a line up. It should be around 1.5 to 2 hrs or so

I applied for a passport in Laval (QC) in-person (regular Service Canada Center) on September 22nd with no travel date/proof, I called them a couple of days ago and they told me my file was approved on October 25th. Any idea what the timeline is between the approval and the shipping date ?
