Wow. That is awesome if true! I just submitted an in-person application on Friday last week Fingers crossed.

However, the other page still says 17 weeks: Canadian passports and other travel documents: Applying in Canada - Canada.ca

Though that may be to cover the mail-in scenario.

Fingers crossed this is right and not the 17 weeks... applied in-person on Sept 15... that would be a great surprise!

Have ticket bookings to support but might end up applying for standard passport application instead of expedited one

I hope it's true but I just checked and it's same 17 weeks ( I send for kids and myself June 24th and still waiting)
I called them couple days back and answer was "we still didn't even started doing it"

What is current processing time for walk-in passports in GTA? I am planning to travel in 3 weeks and wondering if I will get passport in time.

The application form says "we do not encourage you to finalize your travel plans until the passport is delivered".

So why do we need to show plan tickets?

You dont need to show the plane tickets if you are not desperate to get the passport. Otherwise those who want to jump the queue or need passport urgently need to prove their urgency with a ticket

Walked in to submit 3 applications for new passports yesterday at North york location at 3:45 PM. i am the last one.. they were so helpful and let me in as they are about to close.

i have a travel date on oct 23rd. they processed mine and my spouse's application and passports will be mailed out by oct 7. unfortunately i missed taking my daughter's birth certificate so they gave me an appointment to submit her application. i came out by 4:20PM.

No, parents can submit for minors. Check instructions carefully what is needed and specific age limits eg for signatures. But children will not be required to be physically present.

Hello Everyone, Can I apply for passport in-person on behalf of my spouse and kid (family application)? or do they need to be present with me to apply? I am planning to apply in-person and go early to stand in the queue so if they don't have to stand long hours, that would be great.

no need you alone can go. but take id proof for your wife and birth certificates along with the citizenship certificates.

no i had a hotel booking and i wrote a letter stating that i am driving to USA.
