ok great so let me be the first one to ask for your help.
I wanted to study n settle in canada with my spouse and kids . but since the processing time from pakistan was too long, instead i applied to uk for studies and am planning to go there in jan 2012. now my concern is that the economic condition of england and oppertunities is not that great as compared to canada and after i finish my one year course what will I do.
So i still want to also apply for Canadian immigration. I fulfill all the requirements under Quebec immigration . ( I would like to go to Saskatchewan though).
my question is should I apply from Pakistan before leaving? or from england once I am there. Also at what point in time should I apply so that I am in a position to make a good decision
Many Thanks!

Hi, this is my first question. I have read the forums before and am impressed by the amount of information that is shared on here. So I've looked everywhere for an answer to my question but could not find any. Please help me if you can.

I have a friend who has gotten himself into a lot of mess. He is married to a girl from Pakistan. He sponsored her and brought her to Canada. He genuinely loved her. After coming here she completely changed. She made false accusations against him and had him arrested etc. Later she confessed that she did all that because she thought she would get a lot of support from the government if she got pregnant but when she realized she would have to live in a shelter until she finds a job. So,she decided to come home again and drop all charges against him. She obviously did not want to live with him. She got pregnant as soon as she arrived here though. Unfortunately. Now we have realized that she has some sort of personality disorder but no one believes us. She has no control over her emotions and has very serious problems. She suddenly wanted to go to Pakistan to give the birth because she missed her family. So my friend took her to Pakistan and some time later the had a baby boy. Now the problem is they don't want to live together anymore. She does not nurse her baby nor does she take any care of him. She has servants to help with everything else and all she has to do is nurse the child. She doesn't. I'm not sure what kind of a mother would do such a thing. Angry Because of that the baby is now being hospitalized and is very seriously ill and may not even survive. Shocked Cry

Anyhow, the question is that, given the circumstances and the condition of the mother is it possible if the father (Canadian) brings the child to Canada with him because that would be in the best interest if the child, without the mother since they do not want to be together anymore? Can the father have the mother's permanent residency status cancelled since she would be a burden on the welfare system? What other options does the father have?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Interesting, someone who is trying to help a friend in trouble gets quoted and troll alerted. I don't even need to say anything because you guys obviously don't know how to tell the difference between trolls and real ppl. Thanks for the tag anyway.

Well, chefmommy, there is alot going on here and he(the father) has to get legal. It is possible if theyc an prove that she does not take care of the kid than the court would rule in his favour for teh custody of the child but it involves lawyers and a long time. So, he literally has to finght his way. One mistake of him and now he will have to pay tons of money and waste time for all this court and lawyer stuff.

He needs an Immigration or fraud lawyer. I dont know if people here on this forum would have experience with this sort of case. May be some but they probably won't read your psot as there are thousands of posts here.

I have a question regarding my cousin who is a Physiotherapist by profession. My cousin wants to immigrate from Pakistan based on the Federal Skilled worker program as her profession falls in one of the 29 categories. She has the necessary work experience and academic background needed. She is however worried about the processing time and is getting different answers from local immigration consultants. Some say within 9 to 12 months and some say that it may take over 2 -3 yrs.

I should also mention that she is engaged to a personal friend of mine who is also a Canadian citizen, so she can also be sponsored via her future husband. But they are a bit reluctant as the processing time is over 27 months.

They are trying to determine the best route and asked for my help as he was also getting different answers from Toronto based immigration consultants. So I decided to post here to see if I can find the answer.

Please let me know if you can help in this regard. Thanks in advance.
