Looks like the fine for overstay is PHP500 for each month. (child or adult). I would certainly try to resolve this with the Bureau of Immigration well before your flight to Canada, as Airport Immigration may hold you causing you to miss your flight.

I disagree, just go to the airport and pay the fee. It's one extra window, not that much if a delay, and not even a slap on the wrist. You'll waste a whole day at BI, all for the same fee you can pay at the airport.

Also, it's very unlikely you would miss your flight. International aviation laws prohibit aircraft from flying with luggage on board belonging to passengers that don't get on the plane. Someone would have go and rummage through the cargo compartment and remove all your checked luggage before the plane could depart. They will page you 100's of times before they do that.

The only requirement of the BB stamp is that you enter together. If leaving/travelling with only one parent ensure you have a signed Consent Letter for the infant, it does not need to be notarized.

P.S. I agree a new thread for this question was appropriate, the pages fill too quickly on the generic Filipino threads.

I agree with this post...
Its better to take a day to clear things than get to the airport
and having to wait...
Normally they should speed that payment at the airport and would not be any delay...
But its better to make sure...
and solving the issues in advance gives peace of mind...

But if your husband and baby are far away from the airport and can not reach the Bureau of Immigration,
then
make sure that they get to the airport early enough to get all payments sorted out....
and hopefully someone will stay with your husband until he leaves....
to make sure that everything went OK.... (and help with the baby)

Um... I'm pretty sure I saw that same post earlier today and had no idea what she meant, and it did NOT have the PHILIPPINES Airport thing. It was probably edited, because I remember feeling very very confused when I first read it.

Agreed. The initial post didn't really make since and has since been edited.

Hi!

My husband and our 3 kids are canadian citizens too, born in the Philippines, my husband and 2 kids left for canada sept 23. We paid an overstaying fee at the bureau of immigration. Your baby will be needing exit clearance from the BOI. They will asses how much you need to pay. Processing is 2-3 days. In our case we paid overstaying fee since the birth of my children, my eldest is 6 and my little girl is 4!!! You can pm me if you need more details.
