I have a bank account with RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) which I established solely for use to verify the proof of fund requirement. My question is this- when it comes time to show proof of funds, as long as there is an adequate amount in there to meet the requirement, will they care about my checking account I have here in the States that I'm using for my day-to-day activities (rent, car payment, etc)? Would they care to know those balances as well or can I plan on not worrying about getting statements for it? (Either way once I'm in Canada the US bank account will be closed and the value transferred to RBC.)

This is my expertise as I too used my RBC account ONLY even though I have bank accounts in several countries which are quite active. You're golden using just your RBC account with required funds, it makes it much easier for IRCC.
