@jes_ON

Now coming to confusion between 2151 &2251 NOC-
NOC 2151
Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules

NOC 2251
Assist in the development of architectural designs

Your letter matches 2251. There´s a difference in being responsible for the design and plans, vs assisting in the design/plans.

ALSO -
NOC 2151 has such duties as:
May supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team
May supervise construction projects and co-ordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others.

So you have to ask, were you supervising (2151) or being supervised (2251)?

I have understood what you are trying to say. Yes I was being supervised but that was because I was a fresher.

Now I situation is that I don't mind using 2251 code but my employment letter mentions my designation as Architect and also it mentions 2151 NOC code.

This is what is troubling me in changing my NOC code now. What do you suggest in this situation?

Letter of Explanation ... Both are skilled, but you should write an explanation about the two NOCs and why you chose the one you did. It will be OK.

Great thanks.

Now I think my reason would be -

Less cooperation from my ex-employer. Very minimal duties mentioned by him is making it appear to be closer to 2252 NOC meant for Architectural technologists. I chose 2151 as my designation was Architect and I was given all the tasks that are performed my fresher Architects. Also I had degree of bachelor's in architecture when I worked for this office.

I will reframe the language properly.
Do you think I am missing anything or writing something that must not be written?

Thanks for your time and patience

Hi @jes_ON
I am sorry to keep you troubling again and again. I have decided to go on with the right NOC based on my duties i.e. 2251. I have declined the ITA and entered the pool again with 2251 NOC as i want to reduce the complications of the case.

So this being clear that my NOC code is 2251, I am left with one problem. That is the NOC code 2151 mentioned on my employment letter. I know the best option is to get the letter again from my ex-boss. But I really don't think he will give me one again.

So this time when I get ITA withthe right NOC code claimed, do you think a point in LOE stating that - "I made a mistake by requesting my previous employer to include NOC code as per my designation but later I realised that NOC code 2151 is doesn't match my duties. Please avoid the NOC code mentioned in employment letter".

Do you think this can be troublesome in any way?

Again I am sorry to keep changing my decisions and to trouble you again. I hope you understand this is a really difficult situation for me. :(

I cannot thankyou enough for making me realise my mistake at the right time. I was lucky that you informed me before eAPR that i was using wrong NOC code. As mentioned earlier I have applied again with right NOC code 2251. We all are lucky to have people like you to assist us here. Thankyou for staying back on this forum. A lot of blessings coming your way :)

Also, luckily I have managed to get reference letter again from my ex-employer. I finally have 4 points under duties on my employment letter. I hope 4 out of 7 is not a bad match.
Especially if the last two points mentioned in NOC code 2251 are for seniors in the field that can actually supervise other's work in the office. I am copying the NOC duties here. First 4 duties match with my employment letter.

Main duties

Architectural technologists and technicians perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports
  • Prepare manual and CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
  • Construct architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs
  • Prepare contract and bidding documents
  • May supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team
  • May supervise construction projects and co-ordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others.

Hi folks,

I intend to apply under CEC but I need the points from my foreign work experience. I think I have 1 year in the past 10 years, in a cumulative way and under different NOCs... do you think this would be ok?

- 4 months full time, NOC B
- 1 month full time, NOC B
- 4 months part time of paid internship (not mandatory for the conclusion of my bachelor) - NOC B
- 1 year part time as a Teacher Assistant in University (I think it’s NOC A)

I also did some months of freelance work, but I think it would be harder to prove it (no contracts or paystubs).

Any help is appreciated!
