Does any one know why the Senate became to set for ONLY 2 hours a day for 3 days a week (6 hours a week for $150k + a year) after they came back from lengthy the summer break?

No going to pretend to be an expert but presumably they do work outside of the hours they sit in the senate.

Do you think it's sufficient for them to work 30 hours for only presenting 6 hours a week. The MPs work outside their setting hours although their settings are much much longer than the Senators!!

Even during this two hours, they are afraid to be televised or photographed.
Bear in mind, they don't represent people like MPs therefore have no obligations to answer for public. So it's useless if some of you try to send emails to them.
They represent Queen's power, but abuse this power to intervene or trouble government's business for their own benefits but not for Queen's interests which is to maintain the noble tradition, values and constitution.

Not only that your ID is particularly very offensive but your attitude and accusations against the senate are uncalled for.

Unless you were working along side the senate, you and i dont know what these people do or dont. So its rather recommended to maintain your sanity than throw accusations.

If you think so much that canada sucks then you shouldn't be a Canadian or even be here (my opinion)

I can't see a problem criticizing the Senate performance, everyone could be audited, criticized or opinionated!!

If you are out to find inefficiencies in the government, you will find a multitude of them that are greater in magnitude than the Senator salaries. Just look at the outrageous moving expenses that JT approves for his buddies, or the outrageous salaries that Wynne has paid her cronies for hardly any work. The Liberals are shameless at padding their pockets at the expense of taxpayers. At least the Senate serves a purpose!

I don't disagree, you're right.

The point is the Senate don't well serve their purpose; they're dragging discussions for bills and other stuff for so long, especially bill C-6 as an example.

It's all politics at the end of the day. In the case of C6, numerous Senators clearly stated they didn't like the bill and would do whatever they could do delay or defeat it. It also doesn't help that the Minister of Immigration who helped draft the Bill hasn't been able to defend it. When probed on two separate occasions about why the language and residency requirements were loosened, he really had nothing to say other than "I think it's the right thing to do". No studies, no data, no evidence...just a hunch and a relentless quest to undo whatever the Cons did at any cost. In my opinion, that Minister's salary is the biggest waste in the current government. He obviously is ill-prepared to do his job and acting on personal vendettas is hardly a way to draft legislation.

This was a very annoying part, I couldn't interpret it other than its JT's will and JT is the only one who can defend the clauses of the bill that was part of his mandate letter to thee Minister. I had a feeling that the Minister himself is not convinced even with the repealing clause of revoking citizenship!!!

Noteworthy, many of the changes were brought to the minister by MPs as requests from their constituents especially the language for above 54years who I believe should have language test, to me it's fair the language test be required for 18-65 but not under 18 as they will develop the language in school.
