canada's generic application form IMM 0008

happy new year everyone...i welcome the good news of applying for FSW in may 2013 with open arms. however i have tried viewing,downloading or printing the generic IMM 0008 form from cic website without success(its not just opening on my system).

please if you have any suggestion or have got a breakthrough in accessing the form please do help me. Thank you..

I am also having the same problem with form IMM0008 Generic Application form. Have tried it on 4 different computers, checked the adobe update status etc.. no luck. I have emailed the webmaster but no response. Let me know if anyone makes any headway on this. Im trying to apply asap. Thanks

When you try to download IMM0008, are you getting a error something like .."if this message is not eventually replaced
by the proper contents of the document, your pdf viewer may not..." ? If so, ignore the message and save the PDF.
I`m using Windows-7 and if i move the mouse pointer over the message, i get Icons to Save,Print, Zoom etc. on the lower
right hand corner of the screen.

That is the message I am getting. I was hoping to fill this application out online because then I could save it while working on it, and also I believe there is some sort of unique barcode generated upon submitting the application to CIC online. I was thinking that things might run alittle smoother if I did it that way. Now that I think of it, I guess since I am submitting my application from the U.S. I will have to mail it in anyway? anybody know if thats correct? I also read that the application gets submitted without the medical exam and then later they contact the applicant and request the exam, is this true? thanks for any help.

Dear friend
To open and save this form you must have latest Acrobat Reader and java installed in your PC
Please check and download and install if you don't have the above installed in your pc
I had the same problem and was solved after being installed Java in my pc

I also had the same problem but when I downloaded latest version of Acrobat Reader...everything was fine

download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat then right click the file and save it. After saving the file, you can open it.

Friends, I went through all the motions of updating Java and Acrobat, but in CHROME. Nothing happened. I switched to Internet Explorer and within seconds I had the form 0008.

Before spouse individually had to fill a similar kind of form (as Generic Application Form) but now there is not an individual form as I mentioned but only one form 'Generic Application Form' accommodates spouse and dependants accompanying.

Have you even bothered to look at the application package and read the guide? It very clearly explains who is required to fill out each form.

For example, it states:

Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)

Who must fill out this application form?

This form must be completed by:

You, the principal applicant.

For sure I have....And this is the reason behind my confusion. Please read and understand my question properly and then reply so that I could come out of it. In simple words, I want to know that will this Generic Application Form will work the same for my spouse and dependants accompanying me to Canada as the old individual forms for spouse and accompanying dependants were made to do???

Secondly I think this forum is made in order to help each other by sharing knowledge and experience of the topic so you are requested to please use words or gesture which doesn't cause anyone annoying or hurting.
