Well, I have now lived here in Canada, as a visitor for the last 14 months, and I am settling in very well.

I think I'm lucky that my husband is Canadian, as it has made me feel more welcome to Canada as his friends and family have been absolutely wonderful in helping me to feel at home. Whereas, for a family that comes to Canada without knowing many people and they have to learn the way of things and make friends, find jobs etc, I can imagine it must be a lot harder.

I lived in the UK for many years after I moved from Dublin,Ireland and I found the UK to be very nice, I made great life long friends and my kids grew up and had good educations and have made good lives for themselves in the UK.

So I think it depends on your situation and how you settle in.

There is a better way of life here in Canada, and the Canadians embrace family life and enjoy so many more sports and hobbies than the British seem to. So from a relatively new person to Canada, I would say the quality of life here is better.

On the down side, I really miss the High Street for clothes shopping! And of course TEA BAGS!! ha ha

I used to drink the Rose tea, but found English breakfast tea bags and they make a great cuppa, I used to drink PG tips before that back home. ;D

Is Canada a better place to live than UK? I reached a stage to decide where to go Canada or stay in UK?? I know this is a broad question and I might get broad answers but if anyone can come up with any kind of comparison e.g. education, health, prices, tax, etc???

UK is better, atleast they realize that its very important for a person to be with his spouse and thus they give them a temporary resident Visa or a visit Visa. Canadian Government is oblivious to emotions, a real relationship and is run by a bunch of racist bas.tards.

Sorry I have to disagree on this one from experience, me and my Canadian hubby had been married 2 years when he came to the UK to live with me and it took a total of 14 months to get his residency sorted out, luckly he managed to come as a visitor for a while it took a longer time than it did for me to move here .
