I would like to tell you, the working while studying conditions have changed in canada from 1 june 2014. Now you can work just after landing , just like as australia. You don't need to apply any extra work permit , your study permit. Is equivalent of work permit which allows you to work 20 hrs a week and full time during breaks. But if you want to do co-op work , then you have to apply for work permit.

I have done B.com IT (2 years) yet my graduation is not complete so i decided to go to Canada for completion of my Graduation and My Consultant said me that he will apply my case in (BBA 2 years Plan for 12,000C$ per year) in University of Regina Saskatchewan, Canada,....so i applied CAS now but little worried that will i be enable to manage there if i find some problem of getting job to fulfill need of my study expenses,....is that right path to go for that study and getting PR there?

please guide me because that is the right time i can withdraw my CAS and apply for any other country like Australia,...

Thanks in Advance,...

;D Hi all!
I am graduate student and planning to go abroad for further education. I am researching my options and Canada & Australia are my focus countries.

I am Environmentalist(BS.hons) and Disaster Risk Management Graduate(PG Diploma).
Got 7.5 overall bands in IELTS.want to go for MS and then Phd. in Environmental Health and Safety.

I found that Canada is far more cost effective then Aus as its have some universities with really low fees.now i want to work part-time to help my parents with some of the my expenses.People are telling me that in Australia its easy to get work while you study apart from 20hrs limit.
My own choice is Canada as i feel that here i can get PR 'easily' compared to Australia if chose to stay here.(am i correct).
I know that studying abroad is not a piece of cake but i just want to take a wise decision for my future.

how is Calgary for international students? what about work/expenses/fees ..whats best city for international student in CA.

Feel free to tell me you opinion and experiences.

I have said this multiple times on different threads. Dont trust ur agents/consultants blindly they r there to make money and show u dreams which may or may not be possible so before jumping on canadian band wagon here are a few pointers
Just a few pointers for international students who are aiming for canadian education and later canadian PR.
1. Try to get atleast 1 year skilled experience outside canada helps ur points for express entry. 0 experience in home country puts u behind on points for PR
2. Read about PNP of the province ur going too
3. Improve ur english . higher the english language skills better chances of PR
3. Aim for better education, example rather than PG diploma go for masters if u can, this will give u more points for PR
4. always go for a 3 year PGWP with new PR rules it will almost be impossible to get PR in 1 year unless u have a LMIA.
5. choose a skilled profession(NOC 0,A,B).
6. use the CRS calculator to find out where u stand with regards to PR http://www.canadavisa.com/comprehensive-ranking-score-calculator.html
450 and above points are better. below 450 u will have hard time getting PR under express entry.
7. If you can improve ur French it would help u for PR.
8 read about Express entry program http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/express/express-entry.asp

these are a few pointers other people may add more but without thinking above point do not just jump in for canadian education it has now become very difficult to get PR so plan ahead
