Canada Transit Visa from Colombia

Hello everyone,

I applied for a Canada transit visa on January 29th for my trip on October 13th. I applied from Colombia and I would like to know if anyone has experience or knowledge about the current processing times and how long it would be prudent to wait for a response.

I would also like to know if, in case I do not receive a response in the months leading up to my flight, it would be advisable to apply for a visitor visa (which I believe has a faster processing time) and pay the additional fees.

I appreciate any information or experience you can share in advance.

I am from Colombia and I live in Canada and plan to submit an application for a Visitor Visa for my parents, did you apply online? If so, did you submit translated documents or the original documents (in Spanish) or both?

As for the processing times, I believe it takes around 4-5 months for the visitor visa to be processed at the moment.

I presented them translated because the first time I had an automatic rejection and I simply did not know the reasons, that is why I preferred to do it in English.
