I have checked different countries processing times and I see Canada as the slowest country to process the spousal Visa Applications. UK is doing it in 60 days from the day of application received and also they have window service available for Inland Applications. USA doing in maximum 6 months. What is stopping Canada from doing it faster? Lack of Staff or any other thing? Even registration of child birth in Ontario takes 10-16 weeks. Why Canada is so slow? Maybe the slowest nation in the world.

My wife in thailand has 2 friend who married foreigner. One with an american an the other with a british. The american had everything process within 6 month. For the british they got the visa in 6 weeks but it's not full PR, she's allowed to be in UK and has an open work permit but she is not allowed to get public service, she has to get private health insurance. And she needed to get an english exam before landing.

In UK last year they started 200£ per year for 1 person for the health care which was free before that. Yes, you have to take the English test but it's a piece of cake. Even if you have full PR in canada they can kick you in first 2 years and it's same thing in UK. If you spouse complains in the first 2 years they will revoke your visa but not after that. After your visa you can get Indefinite leave to remain which is same as PR. I would want my application to be processed within 60 days rather then 16 months even if they don't give me PR.

i don't agree on that, if u file proper case without any reg flag, they will complete your case within six months.

i am the one my case was completed and visa was issued in six month.

that is a load of bullsht

it has been 5.5 months since i submitted my case and they haven't even OPENED it yet (gcms notes say nothing started yet). sure you can have a strong case with zero red flags, but NONE OF THAT MATTERS UNTIL THEY OPEN THE FREAKING FILE.

you were just one lucky in 10k people bro :D You can even check the timelines on their website. Canada is the slowest country weather its visa or birth registration or anything else. How can you justify 10-16 weeks for birth registration LOL

it wasn't just him, apparently CIC handed out lots of DMs between November and December 2015. it had something to do with visa officers being ordered to rush through pending cases because they were going to be temporarily reassigned to assist with the refugee resettlement program.

I think they're done with refugee cases so lets hope they process the family class applications faster now.

i know... but don't waste energy getting angry over it like i did.

the refugee resettlement program ended on the last day of February 2016, so it's in the past now and we can't do anything about it. let's just focus on getting our apps sorted out.

the good news is that since CIC rushed through apps before doing the temporary reassignments, it didn't really create much of a backlog at the offices that were affected by it.
