I am preparing for Jan 2015 intake and I'll write down what I know about securing Canada Student Visa. I sincerely request Senior folks to add, Share experiences!
1. Secure at least 6 bands or more in IELTS - Academic
2. Apply for shortlisted courses. Mostly Done by consultants.
3. Wait for the unconditional offer letter.
4. Once the Offer letter arrives, pay either first installment of fees or full fees.
5. Pay $ 10,000 for GIC funds, this amount will be transferred to Scotia bank account on your name. You will be able to utilize this amount during your stay in Canada. There are further conditions to it.
6. GIC process takes maximum of 3 weeks and tuition fees receipt process might take maximum of 1 week.
7. Once receipts of GIC and tuition fees are received, you can file for your Canada student Visa.
8. For SPP, If the student wants to opt for Student loan then Loan sanction letter is required for visa filing. The amount should be more than the remaining tuition fees.
9. If the student doesn't want to opt for Loan, he/she needs to submits Income Tax returns (2-3 years) of his/her father.
-->Further I wanted a sure-shot checklist of documents for student visa application.
--> If a student applies for student visa before 3 months of the course beginning date, will his/her application be considered, rejected, accepted??
Guys please add/delete/comment/question/ correct on any of the above provided information. it is just a first hand info and a way to begin our conversation!!
May all your dreams come true!! Cheers!
