Dears,

Hope you are all fine and doing good.

Please clarify my doubt about a Sponsorship based Open work permit for Canada. I Received this details from the Agent who is a PR of Canada.

Step1: The candidate (Me) to send my CV to the Agent and the Agent will forward it for the process

Step 2: The Company to which they are applying will give the sponsor letter to the Canada Immigration Lawyer

Step 3: This agent will forward my docs to the same immigration lawyer.

Step 4: Firstly, the lawyer is creating an account on Canada Government Website. Within 24 hours, an email confirmation will be received from the Government of Canada for the account opening which will have an OTP and I will forward this OTP to the agent to start the process

Step 5: The application will be generated within 5 days and within another 5 days, Biometric Instruction Letter will be received on the same email

Step 6: Embassy Appointment would be booked for the Embassy Interview. Then Biometrics would be registered with the Embassy.

Step 7: After 10-15 days, another email for the Medical Test would be received in the mail. This result would be forwarded to the Embassy. He said 75% process is completed at this stage

Step 8: After almost 8-9 weeks, mail would be received for the Final Confirmation. We have to take the printout and go to the Embassy for the Stamping of the Visa.

Step 9: Since the work permit is received, now he will send the offer letter.

Final Step: The ticket would be booked and would be received by the Agent in Canada. The Canada Agent will complete the formalities and then joins us at the respective company

Based on the above steps, can someone confirm whether the above steps were applicable to the Canada Sponsorship Based Work Permit?

If someone knows the exact procedure involved in this, Please do share.

How are you eligible for an open work permit? Do you have a spouse in Canada? Do you have an approved LMIA? How much are you paying because the steps seem like a scam?

What's the name of this agent? They are scamming you.

The process is that you have to start with the employer, get interviewed, receive an offer, negotiate a salary. Then depending upon whether you need LMIA, your employer would file for it and pay $1K.

Once your LMIA is approved, you apply for WP. There's no other way to go about it.

I forgot to mention that the agent told me it's Pre-Approved LMIA. Total 3.5 Lakhs.

I don't know the Main Agent Name. The Sub agents are Unique Infotech Solutions Chennai. As per his info, no interview. It's Pre Approved LMIA. Sponsorship-based Open Work Permit and salary will be around 2-3 Lakhs INR without food and accommodation. For first month, stay in hotels. Within 1 month, transferred to company's accommodation. Could you please tell me is there any sponsorship based Open work permit is available.?

Sure you are not being scammed because there is no such thing as a sponsorship-based open work permit. If you have a genuine LMIA, then you apply for a closed work permit. What is the job because you are most likely beings scammed as companies don't provide accommodation or provide a month in a hotel. You would be paid in Canadian too so what is the monthly salary.

No, there's no sponsorship based OWP program. You are simply getting scammed here. If you are not getting scammed here and those scammers can still get you a valid LMIA, the company is abusing LMIA and should be reported.

Scam. Some of these steps aren't real. Don't give his person any money.

I'm really curious by these scammers' modus operandi. Will they really fulfill all 10 steps with fake documents and emails, stringing their victim along? Or will they just take the money at an earlier point and go no contact?

It varies. Some fake all / most of the steps (even the steps that don't exist). And some end the scam much earlier. Usually the more money involved, the longer and more involved the con. On a rare occasion, some people will end up trying to fly to Canada on a fake work permit (obviously they never make it on the plane).
