]I have received PPR from CPC ottawa. I have applied to PR when I was in Canada 3 months back. Now I have moved to USA on job basis.
I already communicated my present US address to CPC and it is updated in the website.

I got the below email to send the passport to Canada. Is it legal to send the passports from USA to Canada? Which courier I can use for this please advise if anyone has done this before.

Yes it's legal and you can find the answers in the following thread:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/sending-passport-to-cic-ottawa-t186881.0.html

In particular:

If you have a mailing address in the United States: To allow you to track your passports through the mail, we strongly recommend that you purchase a pre-paid shipping label from Canada Post and include it with your passports and a copy of this letter. Follow the link to purchase your shipping label:

http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/tools/cst/intro-e.asp

If you do not submit a return prepaid Xpresspost envelope or a pre-paid Canada Post shipping label, or if you provide an envelope from any other courier, we will return your passport by regular mail.

Thank you for the quick response.
I was creating the return shipping label from canada post , it is asking the below customs information.
Reason for Export
currency
descripton
unit weight
unit value
country of origin
quantity

what should I fill in these fields?

I really appreciate your response .

My suggestions/recommendations are as follows:

Reason for Export Immigration
currency CAD or USD
descripton passport, immigration documents
unit weight whatever it's going to weigh, 250g?
unit value $200 is probably fair for a passport
country of origin USA presumably, that's where you're sending the parcel from
quantity 1

You may want to wait for some extra input, but that's what I'd use.

If you want it to be returned by recorded mail, you should include a second envelope. They will return it non-recorded otherwise.

That's the impression I get from previous similar posts and from the sample PPR letter on the following link:

Hopefully others can confirm.

Hi Viri, did you include a prepaid Canadian post label or Fedex/UPS/DHL Label? I went to Canadian Post's website and I can't find a way to print a prepaid label to USA.

Never heard of passports crossing borders...has anyone done that and received the passports successfully ?

Use this link -

I sent my passports to Canada using USPS and added a Canada Post shipping label created using the above link with my Passports. Got it back in 7 business days.

Hi Randy, thank you for your reply

I signed up on the Canadian post website but I can't use their service.
The website shows:
"Your user profile does not permit you to access this tool. Please call the Canada Post Technical Helpdesk at 866-511-0546 for more information."

It's probably becoz I don't have a Canada Post customer number and a contract number.

Did you use a canadian add and canadian credit card or sth to register first?

Are there any issues while sending the Passport from USA with return label using Fedex.
I can see everyone is referring to CanadaPost return label.

I need to the send the PP asap.

Please advise.

I send the FedEx return shipping label and the envelop in June-2015. I got the passports back in 4 weeks.
