I'm applying for my passport next week but my local postmistress told me yesterday that one of the Canada Post unions is likely to go on strike from about the 26th, and that it could last up to a month or longer. I'm going to drive 5hrs to drop-off my passport application in person at the passport office so that it doesn't get delayed in the strike, but does anyone know from experience if it's possible to arrange to pay extra in order to use a courier (e.g., Purolator) for the passport office to send the passport out to me?
