Canada is expected to receive 100,000 asylum seekers in upcoming year

I have a question to fellow members. My cousin is applying for express entry and is worried that because of large number of asylum seekers coming to Canada from US, Will it have negative impact on express entry targets ? I read the same in news today as well.

No express entry target has nothing to do with refugee numbers or asylum seekers.

Obviously if Canada gets flooded with trump refugees for years it may start changing but the 2017 EE quota is set and they've already said next year will be at least the same as this one

Where in this article does it say 100k asylum seekers or have you simply made some assumption ?

It was the number that was floating around on a lot of new articles. Nobody knows the real number but I think 3800 asylum seekers in 2 weeks in only Quebec will suggest that number can be a lot higher that this.
