Do you guys think that my study permit will likely get rejected if my aunt in Canada pays the first semester fee and provides a letter stating that she will give me the accommodation during my 1-year PG program? I'M from Srilanka. My parents and siblings are all in Srilanka.

I strongly recommend that pay your tuition fee though your parents and get a GIC certificate for your stay. Then, You dont have to mention about your Aunt in application. It will improve your chances for approval. Otherwise, VO can have concern regarding your financial status.... And try to pay 1 year full tuition fee instead of first semester... GOOD LUCK

Thank you. Due to the on going economic crisis in Srilanka, banks dont do foreign transactions as it did before. Further, I myself show around 20,000CAD in my FD which is for the expenses except for the first semester fee and accomod expenses as these will be taken care by my aunt.

I saw some people get benefit by mentioning relatives support for accommodation and etc in Canada. Which Uni are you applying? I am also from Sri lanaka. living in UAE, planning to apply for Jan 2022 intake.

I've applied to centennial college for PG in hrm for the September intake. what you said was correct .it's is one of the options that Canada government has given to international students. But I've seen some applicant's study permit being refused stating the ties in canada .I'm a bit sceptical as to how VO will perceive this situation. But as of now that's only choice as we can't do anything due to the country's situation.

Then, You can take help of your Aunt for transactions. But, You must explain this situation in your statement of purpose ( SOP ) So, VO can understand properly..
