Hello!

I am sponsoring my spouse and child in the near future; just wanted to know if my child is being sponsored (knowing that there will be a sponsorship agreement done with the Govrnment of Canada and Quebec) what are the benefits programs that my daughter can benefit of:
a) Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB)
b) Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB)
just a) or just b) or both?

We will all live in Montreal; what are the provincial child benefits? could we apply also for the provincial ones?

I would really appreciate real true info.

Thanks to all!

Your child will be entitled to the cctb & uccb both. Also, he/she will receive gst.
I'm not sure what other benefits Quebec gives but Manitoba doesn't give any.

You have to earn under a certain income to get child benefit. Usually, around minimum wage gets you maximum payment, with a sliding scale down. Your yearly tax return will include a child tax credit, again depending on your income, you can claim a small refund.

In all honesty, a man earning enough to support a wife and child, would probably not get a great deal in government handouts.
