Hello, a family's asylum case is accepted 5 months before.

can they claim the Canada child benefit (CCB) for last 5 months from the date they got positive decision? or they can only get the benefit from the date of CCB application?

My friend was thinking that she has to wait one year after her case got approved. She applied after a year. But they paid since her case was approved. She found out refugee claimants excepted this rule. So I believe you will be paid since your case approved.

what about transitional child benefit TCB that is being paid to asyum claimants? will OW claim back TCB for last 6 months too? it was paid 230$ per month?

I don't know about OW. I was in Quebec during my case processing time.

You can’t claim both child benefits that would be double dipping. One or the other.
