Hi! I would just like to ask about my friend situation, she was sponsored by her uncle who has a wife diagnosed with cancer. Right after she received her visa that disabled patient died. But because she already has her visa so they bought her a ticket and was able to managed to get her live-in caregiver work permit at the border of Canada. Now, that the disabled patient that she was supposed to take good care of died, can her uncle keep her as caregiver still even though technically there's no disabled patient, child under 18 or seniors 65 or older living on her uncles house? They want keep her so there'll be someone who'll stay in their house and cook food for them. What's the best thing to do in her situation? Does she need to find a new employer?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Call CIC and ask. She may need to find a new employer since a live-in caregiver visa is for people who are taking care of somebody and normally not for a housekeeper or a maid.

Your friend definitely needs another employer to sponsor her. She has to find a new sponsor and she has to do it quick. Application for new work permit takes about 6-8 weeks not counting the time she spent looking for an employer. Time is of the essence on her situation. Her uncle cannot sponsor her for reasons you already mentioned.
