What kind of work permit? For which country Canada or the UK?Mrs.Purcy said:Can my husband apply for a work permit while waiting for his approval?
My husband. He was on a 2 year open work permit before and a one year visitor visa. Canada.Chevy23 said:What kind of work permit? For which country Canada or the UK?
Ah ok then I think his only option will be a LIMA, like what Scylla said aboveMrs.Purcy said:My husband. He was on a 2 year open work permit before and a one year visitor visa. Canada.
He doesn't qualify for an open work permit based on the outland spousal application or based on being married to you.Mrs.Purcy said:What about an open work permit?
Before you can even apply for the work permit, your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA. This involves first advertising the job for at least a month (to prove no Canadian could be found for the role). Once the job has been advertised and the LMIA application is submitted, processing times are anywhere from 6-16+ weeks for the LMIA. Only once the LMIA is approved can you the apply for the closed work permit. Closed work permit processing times are individual to the visa office and can be found here:Kan_Sri said:how long does it take for Close work permit to come through? say from job offer time...?

Just thought of you! They're working on apps received 17th of july. CIC got outs on july 15th so I may try calling next week hopefully i get sa soon! but my husband wants to come back. Im curious though, he wants to know if he can apply for a 6 month visitor visa while the process is still going on?yokies said:Mrs.Purcy I'm guessing you still haven't received a SA? Have you followed up with cic? The working permit option is very limited in your case. Everyone on here have given you some possibilities such as the IEC if he can qualify. The LMIA option is hard because finding a job where an employer would do this is not easybut you can definitely look at this option and see if there are employers willing to do this. I'm wishing you all the best, I really want you to get your SA ASAP. Good luck .
