Can one apply for PR through both provincial nominee and Express Entry?

Hi all, I have a question.
My work permit is expiring on December 31st 2016

I have been nominated by OINP in the international student stream and I am currently getting my documents ready to apply for BOWP.
However, I am also sitting on 499 points (was 469 before) and would probably get an ITA in the next draw.

Question) If i do get an ITA, can i apply for PR through both PNP and Express Entry? I have been told that in order to get a BOWP through PNP stream, i have to apply for PR through that stream as well.

The reason why i would rather not go with PNP is because it takes waaay too much time and i would have a closed work permit.

The letter of invitation will basically tell you what program you will be applying for.

Since you haven't claimed your 600 points you will receive an invitation for - CEC or FSW

I haven't mentioned in the Express Entry system that I have received a provincial nomination already, as my lawyer said you can't claim 600 points for international student stream in the express entry, so right now i am just registered with Job bank registration.

Also, there seems to be a little confusion here, I will be applying for BOWP and PR outside of Express entry as I don't have many days left on my work permit.
The question is just that, can i apply for PR through OINP international stream now, just so my BOWP gets processed, but will apply for PR again through Express Entry so i get it faster.

Hi There

if you find an asnwer , please share , as 16 months is way longer than 6 months and also PNP paper may require alot of Forms change ,,etc
while express entry it is all Digital
I will be in same boat soon ( if all goes well ) and I have same question

The usual process, an online case specific enquiry or email.
Just because it's a paper PR application doesn't mean all correspondence is via paper.

Before AOR: email the CIO at Sydney, NS
After AOR: email your local VO--the AOR letter would mention their contact details.

You should wait at least until you pass the completeness check and your application is accepted for processing. That can take a few months. But at least you can apply for the BOWP as soon as you submit your application, and benefit from implied status.

But yes, you can apply through both programs, and it's a good idea - with express entry, you will be able to apply for the BOWP much sooner.
