We are planning for my wife to move to Canada from the States, and she wants to pursue her post-secondary here in Ontario. I (Canadian) will be sponsoring her. When reading my requirements for sponsorship, however, I read the requirements are:
  • support them financially
  • make sure they don’t need social assistance from the government
Will OSAP be considered social assistance from the government?
If not, how long should she be here as a PR to go to school with domestic tuition?
Thank you!

OSAP is not social assistance. She qualifies for domestic tuition the day she becomes a PR.
