Can my parents use Visitor Visa to enter Canada instead of Super Visa.

My Parents has Visitor and Super Visa both, Last year my father visited us here in super visa but stayed only for 5 months, this year he is again planning to come for 5 months.
Can we use Visitor visa for the entry. Just because if we use Super visa we would need to spend a lot of money for Medical Insurance again. Is there any way to save it?

You should be buying insurance no matter what. It is up to IRCC what type of visa he can land on and I would assume upon entry Canada prefers that senior parents land on a supervisa so they have to purchase insurance. He can certainly ask but should also have proof of a year of supervisa insurance just in case or he could be denied entry.

If they need any medical attention during their 5 months stay, it will be much more expensive than travel health insurance.
Regardless of which visa they use to travel, get good insurance coverage for them.

To add to my comment if he is requesting to use regular TRV on landing I would have proof he has traveled medical insurance for that period of time so there is no concern he is trying to avoid having travel medical insurance. Normal travel medical insurance may be less costly and also have a higher level of coverage since 100k is not that hard to exceed. Supervisa insurance is expensive and only provides 100k because many actually make claims and some are very large claims.

Thanks for the reply. So, is it recommended to buy insurance for 1 month or should I get it for 5 months?
I have return tickets booked to show that he will be returning back.
Further any recommendations of the companies to buy insurance from, I don't see any insurance company from India that can provide me, little difficult to verify OSFI list here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/parent-grandparent-super-visa/eligibility.html but ok I am good to purchase from Canadian companies as well.

You get coverage enough for they stay. If they are staying for 5 months, then get 5 months. I don't understand your question about 1 month coverage.

Great.. thanks, My bad.. its a typo, wanted to check if 1 year is mandatory.
If they enter with super visa, then get 1 year and most of the super visa health insurance can be canceled for the un-used months.
If they are entering with visitor visa, then get 5 months (for the duration of their trip).

If you can show you have purchased 5 months of health insurance and ask to be landed on a normal TRV vs supervisa think there are much higher chances that CBSA will be fine with the plan.
