My wife chose not to undergo the X-Ray while pregrancy as it could pose a risk for the baby in the future. She will get her X-ray done after delivering the baby. A delay of 2-3 months in processing the application is acceptable to both of us. Its your decision anyway!!

Has anyone ever wondered why the CHC do not ask for the X-Ray for small children below 12 yrs. I understand from this that its not a good thing to do on children.

Our Passports are with High Commission right now. Very likely that the application would be on hold for now. I would need the Passports back from CHC to get the new passport for my second child. The parents and sibling have to be present in person in the Passport office with the original Passports.

Will CHC return it by themself or do I have to request CHC to return the Passports for this purpose?

Experts advice please.

Bryan.

Now i am confused...

Please this is the answer one applicant received after informing his Vo that his wife was expecting a baby at the stage of their medical visit.

sir,
You have informed us of the birth or the birth of your next child.
Please accept our sincere congratulations.
IMPORTANT:
#
If you have already received your permanent resident visa, please note that they are valid for longer time from when you have a new dependent. you
should not under any circumstances use these visas to enter Canada. You must make achieve with the forms IMM5292 "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" so that we can cancel. We will return your passport.
#

However, if there is a current pregnancy, any approach to our service is required
provided that the birth takes place in Canada. Every child that is born in Canada is a Canadian citizen.

So finally what do we have to understang? if wife pregnant during medical visit can she wait to deliver and obtain those visas? Or must she make sure to deliver in Canada for the couple to have valid visas?

Another answer from the VO of another applicant on this forum:
This is what he got in his PPR email.

NOTE: If you are expecting a child and are able to land in Canada before the child is born, you should do so. Failure to land before additional dependants are born will result in the need for a new application and new fees for all family members.
[/b]

Can someone give us more insight on this matter please?

@ gloire.if she is pregnant she may want to wait after delivery to do her xray or she can go ahead to do it now that she is pregnant depending on her doctors advice. if she has her pr visa issued before she delivers then she can fly depending on the stage of her pregnancy and deliver making her child a canadian citizen. But if she has her pr visa and then delivers b4 traveling to canada then she and her entire family will have to return their visas for cancelation to their visa office so that the baby can do medicals and be given visa.

Tnx. May be i am hard to understand but what is the difference in your case?
There is something i still don't understand...At this stage of medicals, is it depending of if you get the passeport request before or after the delivrance of the baby?

Because of the change in the composition of your family i though you will have to start the process all again if you don't manage to deliver in Canada.

Did the embassy assure you that at this stage of medicals, after your baby will be born you will just have to send his documents for them to add him and give visas to the entire family?

HAHA. I just wanted to hold the right information and i think that i finally understand:

At the moment you receive the MR, the only thing that can cost you your dream for Canada is that you deliver outside the country after receiving your visa. isnt'it???

So if pregnant during medicals, you can choose to pass all your test even X-ray and expect to deliver in Canada; or choose to postpone medicals and do it after delivery, add the new dependent to your file and receive visa for all the family.

Delivering out side canada after having ur visa wil not cost u ur dream of going to canada. If u find ur self in such situation all u need do is to return d visas and add the baby.if preg and medicals comes u have to go ahead to do the medicals with ur family.only the xray of ur wife will have to wait until she delivers(though some pple do their xray while pregenant.the choice is ur).but bear in mind that no decision wil b made on ur application until everyones medical is recived that is if she does not do her xray until she delivers.i hope this helps

Yeahhh that's what i was saying by ''cost u ur dream for Canada''. The fact that the visa will be cancelled and you will have to start again.

I am a doctor. Medically speaking, risks from radiation during a chest xray after 20 Weeks of pregnancy are very minimal. I'm a father of a child and my wife is pregnant, at present. We received medicals request when she was in her 17 th Week of pregnancy. We waited for a month and then got the medicals done, as we get 45 days to do our medicals.
Chest xray gives out extremely less radiation and if you use abdominal shielding, there is nothing to worry.
So, cheers. :D
