Can I work based on my landing visa (IM-1)

Hi Guys,

I have got my landing visa stamped in. Now before I land I was thinking to apply for few companies and try to get some interviews. I know it's hard but trying doesn't hurt.

my question is, can I legally work on my landing visa. If not, do I need to wait until I get PR, I mean it takes maximum 60 days.

Immigrant visa is for landing and once you land, you are PR. No need to wait for PR card. You can start applying now and can work as soon as you land. Just apply for SIN.

You dont become a PR till you land. And you need PR status for a SIN

Landing mean PR.

No landing => No PR => No SIN => No Job

Don't delay your landing. In fact, you should land tomorrow if possible.
