I currently reside in the UAE, and I learnt I can't take loans in Canada unless I'm a resident (not sure). Can I take a loan (not a student loan, just a loan), from the UAE and spend it on my tuition in Canada? And if I'm not eligible for a student loan from a Canadian bank, can I take a loan considering I have a bank account there?

Loans in Canada are based on your credit rating. No credit, no loan.

As to the UAE, this is something you should know. As long as you can get the money out of UAE, you can spend it on anything in Canada.

Interesting. I can get a loan but I can't get a Visa credit card in Canada!

I think credit rating is a bit different than credit cards. Credit rating is more like income, maybe? Not sure.

Thanks for the answer info-gc.
