Hi,

I'm currently a UK citizen living in Canada. I'm 3 months into a year long work visa and already thinking a year is not enough.

Now I know extending my work visa would be difficult but would it be illegal for me to stay without working after it has expired?

If so, how long could I stay for legally?

I want to do everything above board becuase I don't want to jeopardize my chances of returning as a visitor, as I have family here.

Thanks for taking the time out to read and reply (if you do).

Before your work permit expires, you apply for an extension as a visitor to Vegreville.

If you are British National not so much less... just apply to say you have been working all those years and now you would love to explore canada with a visitors visa. Hope you have enough funds to proof that and to cover expenses for your next 6 months.
