Can I sponsor my wife while her Express Entry FSW is in progress

Hi there,

I am a Canadian PR holder.

My fiance and I are planning to getting married in May 2017. She also qualifies for express entry FSW program (even before getting married to me), and does plan to go ahead and apply for it provided, she gets invitation in the draw. The CRS calculator tool has predicted her score to be around 475, which seems to be decent one.

However my question is, if she gets invitation and applies for FSW under express entry, can I still proceed and apply to sponsor her as wife after our marriage.

Can we have both the processes .... Express entry FSW (before marriage) and Spousal sponsorship (after marriage) in progress at a same time ?? Are we allowed to do that ?? What can go wrong or what possible issue or risks should we look out for ??

Thank you Scylla .... but does that create any issues ?? or will it delay any of the process ?? Like if FSW is going ahead .... will it get halted by sponsoring process ?? I am juts worried about it .... as my main intention is to bring my wife here ASAP.

The 2 apps would have nothing to do with each other. Note that you will be required to pay fees for both and may not get a refund on the cancelled app.
