so it says in the CIC website

You can sponsor one relative of any age or relationship, but only if you do not have one of these living relatives who could be sponsored as a member of the family class

spouse or common-law partner,
conjugal partner,
son or daughter,
parent,
grandparent,
sibling, or
uncle, aunt, nephew or niece...

I came here in Canada through spousal visa coz my husband is a permanent resident. So i was wondering since I don't have any relative here in canada, I can sponsor someone. So my question is, Does it have to be in sequence order? Like I have to sponsor my Parents instead of my sibling coz it's in the 4th line and my sibling is in the 6th line? But is says "One of these?" does it mean I can sponsor any of them? doesn't have to be in order??

i don't think so because you have a spouse in canada already, and presumable more family by marriage (ie: his parents, siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles, etc.), so CIC will not see you as alone in Canada. i believe what you posted is ONLY when you are the only one in canada. ie: no spouse or children. Generally siblings are exempt from sponsorship, and need to find an alternate route to immigrating.

Hopefully a senior member can confirm whether or not what you posted applies to you.

Confirmed. As you have a spouse, there is no possibility to use the "lonely immigrant in Canada" exemption.
You cannot sponsor a sister under these circumstances.

You left out the most important part of the quote from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

You can sponsor one relative of any age or relationship, but only if you do not have one of these living relatives who could be sponsored as a member of the family class:

spouse or common-law partner,
conjugal partner,
son or daughter,
parent,
grandparent,
sibling, or
uncle, aunt, nephew or niece, and
you do not have any relative who is a:

Canadian citizen,
permanent resident or
registered Indian under the Indian Act.

As stated above there is NO way for YOU to sponsor your sister. your sister will need to find an alternate route on her own, such as a work permit. Depending on her age, and where she's from, she may qualify for a working holiday visa. You will not be able to apply for her in any way. SHE will need to do the legwork herself, as it's assumed her reasonings for coming to canada are for her, NOT you. If your sister wants to immigrate to canada, then she needs to start on the immigration website and take the survey to see how she can qualify.

If you have no family or relatives at all in Canada, and both your parents are deceased, then yes you can sponsor your sister and her spouse/dependents. I believe you use the "other relatives" package: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/famcls.asp

If your parents are still alive, then it would be expected you would sponsor them under regular PGP family class.

If you live in Manitoba there is a stream under the Provincial Nominee Program that would allow you to bring your sister.

From my understanding your sibling over 18 does not fit in with the other relative group and therefore you cannot sponsor him or her

Thank you. Kindly clarify if a sibling over 18 can be sponsored as part of the other relative group under lonely person program
