We have everything pretty much ready to send, translations done, medical, forms signed, proofs. We are still waiting for one police certificate from Cape Verde which may take another month or longer to get. Do we need to wait for it to submit, or can it be forwarded at a later date? Thanks :)

I understand that for outland spousal PR, you do the police check before the application and the certificate (check) should be included with your application.

You can actually wait to submit the PCs and begin the processing of the Sponsor Application at CPC-M. But make sure you include a note to CPC-M that states you have already applied for them and that you will send them to the appropriate visa office upon receiving them.

You cannot send the PCs to the federal visa office until your receive your AOR (confirmation that you application was received by the federal visa office) as you must include the File Number that will be indicated on the AOR to ensure that the PCs will link up to your application.

I don't know the protocol in Cape Verde, but I know that many visa offices do not send an AOR, so this information is not necessarily true. The PC could be matched up with the file number that would be provided to the sponsor with the sponsorship approval letter.

Cdagal, I would suggest however that you wait until you get your PC before submitting your application to Mississauga. Without the PC, they will typically not forward your application to the visa office, so you won't be saving yourself any time by submitting your application now. I think you are better off sending a complete application rather than sending things in pieces anyway and hoping that they get matched together appropriately.

I agree with Ariell, I suggest submitting everything you need all at one time. Having missing documents can cause significant delays. :)
