Can i send option-c print out after application have been sent

Hi my husband is sponsoring me, we hired a lawyer to do our application which was sent in 9 months ago , Inland Application, however while reading these post I realize what we sent in is not option -c , the paper we sent is a print out from H & R of which the guy told us is the option-c , we give that to the lawyer and he did not tell us its the wrong paper, he just sent it in,
However as I said while reading post here realize we had to request it so we did for 2012 and 2013,
If I were to use the lawyer to sent it to cic he will charge us so my question is--

1 Should I sent it in now? If Yes
2 How do I send it ?
3 Should I send in just 2012 or both 2012 and 2013

I am no lawyer, seniors can offer more input.

Option C document is an important document to access the eligibility to sponsor someone. Hence it would be better if you send it to them. However, i am under the impression the CIC would request you to provide missing or updated document before deciding on the file. Hence you could wait. this could add delay to the process.

I suggest you call and explain to the CIC agent that you have missed sending in a document, and what you should do to prevent delays. Try calling in the morning, i hear from this forum, you could get through very quickly. i am assuming, since it is inland you dont have a file number to send extra documents.

Hello. I had a similar situation where I realized some documents were wrong and wanted to send them in afterwards. I called CIC and was told that this is not possible. I was instructed that I should not send any extra documents unless I receive a request for them (in the stage 1 processing anyways), he said that it would be difficult for them to match up the newly sent documents with my file that they might not have even looked at yet. Unfortunately you will have to wait and see what happens. In my case, my documents I suppose were not such a big deal because I received my Sponsorship Approval without any request for these documents. In your case the option C printout is used to determine whether or not the Sponsor has been collecting welfare, if you didn't send these documents they will either ask you for them, or do a manually request the information from the welfare office which will add around 2 months I believe to the stage 1 processing time.

It sucks, but that's life. I think that depending on what happens you should get a discount from your lawyer bill. You hired him, he's supposed to know everything that needs to be sent so this is ultimately his mistake and not yours. If they return the application (which they sometimes do in the case of missing documents) I would probably not pay him at all. If the application is taking longer than normal you can call CIC and find out the reason and if it is because they are putting in a search to find out if you were on welfare I would call to yell at the lawyer and get a major discount for his failed services.

How can i send new passport copy and option -c

Hello To all Members

I had asked advice ( If I can send in option -c print out after application have been sent ) however I did not get a yes or no answer , I tried calling cic but always gets recording , no one to talk to .

I have another question - My passport would expire in July ,I got new one yesterday so I will like to know the process of sending copy of new passport and at what address to send it to, also a if anyone have a number for cic where I can talk to a person and not a machine would be helpful .

Well, if you re-read the replies again, you will see that your question was answered.

If you do not send in your latest Option C, there's a chance that your entire application will be returned to you, since without the Option C it is incomplete.

CIC may ask you for it, or they may just return your entire application. It's entirely up to them.

The main number for CIC will usually let you talk to a human, unless they're really busy. It's the same number that everyone else has to call (from within Canada). You have to keep trying!

Thanks Ponga....I was thinking, uhm yes I actually did answer the question. lol

I think on the phone if you push like....either 0 or * or # you will skip all of the menu stuff and get put into a que for an operator. Just can't remember which one. lol. Try them all! But they'll just tell you what I did. If you already sent your application in, it's too late. You have to wait and see if they request it, return your application, or do a manual welfare search in the system. There is nothing you can do at this point.

This also applies for your new passport. You can't send them anything until you have had initial communication from them. If they give you your AOR there should be information in that letter of where to send them information if you need to.

I think you "should" be Ok with the H&R Block printout - I myself could not obtain an Option-C as I have not paid taxes in the last 5 years since I have been working in Thailand. Instead, I got a certified salary statement from my employer and all was well.
