Can I quit my job after submission of EE?

Hello all,

I submitted my EE application last week, my catergory is CEC, no PNP nomination. However this week I got a new job offer from the other company, and I'm considering to accept the offer... I would like to know if there would be any potential side effects for my application if I quit my current job?

Thanks a lot! ;)

No, unless any changes to your circumstances would make you ineligible for express entry, I highly doubt it would be an issue. Your application will be assessed on its merits at the time of your submission. And by express entry, I presume you mean your PR application.

One question though, do you have an LMIA as part of your application?

Hi jamezmoran

I apologize if this is repeating the question, but I submitted my eAPR mid November 2016 and lost my job early December 2016. Clearly that doesn't affect my points and I am looking for another job right now. Do you think I need to inform CIC?

no I dont have LMIA and I have open work permit.

Thanks for your reply ;D
What I meant was does your express entry profile have an LMIA contributing to your total points? If your current job was the basis of your LMIA, I imagine you would have to get a new LMIA for your new job and inform CIC of the change.

Your job is in your home country? No, I do not think you need to inform CIC since they will be looking to verify the information you gave them was true at the time that you submitted your application, and won't be assessing any information after that. The only time you should inform them of changes is when the change would make you ineligible if you were to hypothetically re-file your application under the same CRS points you received the invitation under. An example of this would be if you obtained a criminal conviction after submission, or contracted an illness that would not pass the medicals, etc. Fairly obvious stuff.

Thanks very much for that. If I was to hypothetically re-file my application this wouldn't affect my points in any way.

No I am not working in my home country but i am legally staying here (in the UK) till my visa gets renewed.

Thanks again +1
