Can I participate in an apprenticeship program with an open work permit?

I'm a Mexican citizen and I have a question. I received an open work permit while I wait for my Permanent Resident application under Family Class to be process and I want to start working with a company in an apprenticeship program. Can I have do the training with the open work permit or not

No you can't. The program is only open to PRs and Canadian Citizens.
