Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi guys,

I am in Canada with Permanent residence status from one year and I am moving to US for 2 to 3 years. I am married last year and I want to know whether can I sponsor my wife before moving to US? Will CIC process the application with what ever documentation I provided now, I will provide them all pay stubs, financial documents for sponsoring until today and move to US or will they reject my application?
please guys can someone help me with it?

As a PR, you're expected to remain in Canada while sponsoring outland.

If you leave Canada while the application is in process, IRCC will probably cancel or refuse it. You must stay in Canada until the application process is completed.

Hello, I’m the sponsor and I’m a Canadian citizen, I sponsored my husband in November 2021 and now I would like to go back to India to live with him till he gets sponsored but I’m confused about this decision would affect his file

Since you are a Canadian citizen, you can leave and stay with your husband in India.

You need to update IRCC of you new address after you leave Canada. And likely provide some proof to relocate back to Canada once his PR application has been final. (which wasn't required when you send in the initial application because you were living in Canada).

Since it's a temporary move, I think you should be able to provide proof. (e.g. where you will live and if you are keeping the house you own, your active bank accounts, your car, your job that you plan to work remotely ...etc)

I'm not so sure that she necessarily has to provide IRCC with an updated address. She's only visiting India to spend time with her husband, but her primary residence is still in Canada. I'm assuming she also has a remote job that she can likely continue from Canada too.

I feel like the updating IRCC with your address is more for a permanent move. Even if she spends the next 6 months there, it doesn't mean she's 'moved' there.

Just my 2 cents though.

Likely not as critical for a citizen. The problem is, IRCC may not have much info on those other aspects of residence. Put it this way: if sponsor is a citizen who has lived in Canada all their life (or many years) and goes to visit - probably not an issue.

For a sponsor who does not actually habitually live in Canada and/or has hardly resided in Canada, it may raise some questions at IRCC.

Note, it may be in their interest to advise IRCC - eg if the relationship is short or an arranged marriage, actually living together would support bona fides of relationship.

Interesting, valid points. This kind of raises some questions for myself too.

Here's my situation. I'm a Canadian citizen whose lived my entire life in Canada. I've got an outland application in process, which was filed 7 months ago when I was in Canada. 5 months ago, I (the sponsor) decided to come to my husband's country so that we could spend time together while the application continues processing. I'm also working remotely at the same time. As of writing this, I'm still in my husband's country visiting him.

While I've been here, we've moved around throughout various places within the country. As such, I have no concrete address here that I could use to update IRCC with. In my mind, my residence in Canada is still my 'home' and place of residence. The last update we received was the pre-arrival letter. Now I'm wondering whether I should take any action here in this situation. Any thoughts?
