My grandpa recently arrived in Canada as a PR. However, because he doesn't have a credit card or any credit history yet, how can he get a cell phone? Any advice?

As @armoured pointed out, this is a backward looking stat. For what it's worth, our outland application was sent in early 2021 and completed (with landing) in 9.5 months. Focus on the part you can control; put together a solid application. Stay optimistic everyone!

For what it's worth, I actually used the export chat function on WhatsApp. This displays the messages in a format where the sender and timezone is displayed very transparently. We used this in our spousal application and it worked out very well.

Okay, sounds good. Will hold off on contacting them for now. And that's right, it's BC. To be more specific, it's institutions like ICBC that won't accept COPR. As a result, no driver's license, IDs, or even MSP can be availed until ICBC allows us through.

Been about 35 days and still no PR card. Do you think it's worth reaching out or just play the wait game at this point? It's a little annoying as certain provincial things require the PR card (they don't accept the COPR) and so things are on hold for us...

Given your entire case with how you've laid it out, I honestly don't think you've got anything to worry about. Keeping in mind Covid and North American (specifically Canadian/American) culture, this all falls under the umbrella of a straight forward spousal application for the IRCC. To top if...

If he flies back without receiving his PR card, the card will have to be mailed out to him abroad. The COPR visa in your passport is only valid for 1 entry, and the COPR document itself is not a travel document.

Expect about 14 to 17 days. That's the general average.

Interesting. I wouldn't worry too much as me and @noelt1991 are also waiting for our passports to finish stamping and be shipped out. The fact that one of yours has been shipped is good news. I think this week we should see all of them dispatched back.
