Hi folks,

I tried to find information about my question before posting but wasn't able to find anything related to it.

My wife has applied for Permanent Residency but has yet to have her application finalized and we have no idea how long it will take. Answers from Immigration and Visa Services have just been that the application is in a cue and we'll be notified ...

To be clear, we're applying for her PR outside of Canada from South Korea (our application is now being processed in the Philippines as the Canadian Embassy in Seoul no longer provides the services).

My question is: am I able to relocated back to Canada before my wife's application is completed (to set up our home, find a job, etc) or do I have to stay here until it's done?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and second question, just for the sake of not starting another thread ...

When I check the process status online, it lists my mailing address as being in Canada but my actual residence that we're living at is in South Korea ...

I know this is going to sound dumb because the answer is probably in the explanation but should I contact the visa office and ask for them to change the address?

You may move to Canada while you are sponsoring your wife. No problem with that.

If the mailing address is wrong, you can change it.

Thanks Leon!

Is it normal for the mailing address to be listed as a Canadian address or is it better to have our address in Korea listed as the mailing address?

Also, the website says that the online address update can be done for applications that are being done within Canada. Should I called the hotline to change the address?
