I want to know that can i apply for vistor visa. Here is the story:- my sister is inviting me for her 2 years old son’s birthday party which is on 25 November. Here is the real deal, My sister and her husband had a fight and her husband assaulted her. She reported to the RCMP and now there is a case going on between them. She has got her landing papers very recently but not recieved PR card yet(PR file she filed after getting married and it also includes her husband's details such as her husband's UCI). They have been asked to be in no contact for a year (which will end in june2023) so this time she wants to invite me (Note: She is my only sister, my parents have valid vistor visa till 2028)to her son's birthday. She also has the invitation letter written from immigration multicultural society services and also signed by the Member of parliament.

Can i apply for vistor visa if yes, do i have chances of approval based on above explained situation?
Thankyou.

You can apply for a TRV. Your ties to your home country are what will likely matter the most. Have you had longterm decent paying employment? Do you own property? Do you have spouse or dependent children that won‘t travel with you? Do you live in your home country? Do you have any other siblings and do they live in your home country? Do you have any other family in Canada? Are your parents currently in Canada? If not, are they planning on visiting soon? How long has your sister lived in Canada? How much savings do you have in your name? Have you ever applied for any type of permit or visa from Canada?

If you explain about the abuse charges and restraining order there will likely be concerns that you will want to visit for a much longer period than a temporary visit to visit for a birthday or leave from your job (if you have one). Letter from MP and multicultural society will likely have zero impact and if declares abuse may have negative impact because there will be concerns of you remaining longterm. Are your parents able to travel?
