Can I apply for GCMS notes?

Hello good people,

I have applied under the Express Entry CEC and received my AOR on February 1st, 2016.
I am presently on "Implied Status" as my PGWP expired on February 18, 2016. I am currently residing in Canada.
My current status in Background Check has remained (Not needed at the time), for over 3 months. Medicals Passed.
I feel it is wise to order a GCMS note to know what is happening to my PR application

So can I apply for a GCMS note? I read somewhere on this forum that you must be currently residing in Canada on a valid permit before you can apply for a GCMS note. Is this information true?

I also want to know which method is best to use in applying for the GCMS note (the $5 fee method, or the free method).

Please also help me with the direct links for ordering a GCMS note.

visafile.com ...........gcmsnow.com........i always suggest go for GCMS anytime after 40days and for 2nd set of notes later......its important to know the work in the first month after AOR.

Do i get the same information about my application if I apply for it through the (1)Privacy Act or (2) Access to Information act

Not true, you can apply as long as you have valid status in Canada (Implied status is considered as valid status.) You should apply under 'Privacy Act'.
