Awesomeg said:No, until a status is given a dependent child can not go to school,
unless he/she pays the necessary fees as international student,
which is very expensive.
You can speak with the principal of the school that you want your
dependent child to know if he allows your child to attend classes
without actually registering, but that will be decision of the principal.

canuck_in_uk said:There have been several people who have successfully enrolled children in school while they are here as a visitor awaiting PR. It depends entirely on the school/school board. The Canadian step-parent should be the one taking the child in and requesting enrollment.
rhcohen2014 said:as suggestd above, it's dependant on the provence, city, school district and specific school.... it may actually require you to call the city/school board/district/school to find out what their specific policy is.
