Can a Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP) holder transition to a primary applicant for Permanent Residency (PR)?

My wife is currently a dependent (SOWP holder) under my study permit sponsorship. Given that she has one year of work experience in Canada and I have recently completed my studies here, is it feasible for her to be the primary applicant for a new permanent residency application ?

How would she be eligible to apply for PR?

What do you mean that you have study permit sponsorship? If you have completed your studies, how would you be eligible for PR?

Yes, I have successfully completed my degree and have applied for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Meanwhile, my wife has accumulated one year of work experience in Canada as she holds a Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP). We are considering entering the Canadian immigration pool, specifically under the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) category @Ponga

@prabhjot.325 Did you apply for PR? Is it possible to apply? Did you get more information?
Either spouse can be the primary applicant in a PR application. There are no rules preventing this.

Hello
prabhjot.325, did you find a reasonable answer to your question? I am in a similar situation, I would appreciate all the assistance I can get. Thank you

Can he be eligible for OINP? Or is he limited to PNP? Also, back in 2021, this rule was cancelled. I would like to confirm if it wasn't effected

Hi! Does your wife able to submit PR application and be the main applicant?
