Hi everyone,

I am a freelance journalist (who is also a PR of Canada, living in Montreal) and I am interested in doing a story about Americans who have immigrated to and are living in Quebec. When I had my QC selection interview last year, the immigration officer told me that it is very rare that Americans choose to immigrate to QC due to the language, culture, etc. He said that most Americans choose Ontario or BC, etc.

I am looking for people to share their experiences, their reasons for moving to QC, and how they are adapting, amongst other aspects. If anyone here would like to participate and share their story, please contact me via the forum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me as well. Thank you!

I'd be curious to know what you find. I'm an American who immigrated to Montreal in July (after living here on and off since 2005.) I find Quebec to be a very mixed bag. Montreal is a great city but the political situation is seriously weighing me down. If I have to hear Madame Marois talk one more time about French in Montreal or requirements for immigrants or a new bill 101, I'm going to puke. It's the debate that never gets resolved.

I'm not saying I'll leave Quebec anytime soon, but equally, it wouldn't surpise me if I found myself in English Canada in the next three years.
