It's just too strange not to ask for it... I guess the OP will just have to go to the interview and hope for the best. The letter certainly sounds positive so I'm cautiously optimistic...
Would there be any benefit in going and doing an upfront medical? If it's an administrative error on their part, the requirement would already be fulfilled?

I really hoop for the best, being refused on interview I think is the worst thing ever. My lawyer is saying they don't call you to say you been refused.

Ask your lawyer how you could have been approved without the medical.

IMHO, a good lawyer would know that you never did the medical and that it's a requirement for PR.

S/he should have told you to do the medical, rather than to hope that CIC made a mistake.

Sorry l would like to know your current status since it's an inland application, who knows maybe you did medical recently to have your current status, it could be the reason why they did not request for your medical, since the letter sound positive.

He knows that but, he know that they don't call to tell you in the face you are refused. They simply send you letter your application has been refused and the reason.

I'm not saying you can get PR without, but must be something I hope positive.

Have you asked CIC about it? if not, at the very least, I would go do a medical....the doctor will automatically send the results to CIC...I wouldn't wait to see what happens...but maybe the experts disagree?

You do realize depending on where you are getting the medical done it is upwards of $400+ dollars, i would advise the OP to contact CIC regarding the medicals situations and get confirmation on whether or not it is needed before going out and spending that money.

The medical IS a requirement for anyone/everyone applying for PR.

Just to play Devil's Advocate:

What happens if the OP is approved for PR, knowing that the medical was never completed...then, somehow (later on) CIC realizes that it was their mistake and comes back to the person and says "Why didn't you complete the required medical"?

Couldn't that be a big problem?!

Might the PR [possibly] be revoked because of misrepresentation (applicant knowingly failed to complete a medical exam, yet `accepted' the PR)?

It's clearly outlined in the application paperwork that a medical is required, right?

The lawyer here seems to be playing a dangerous game, by `eluding' to something that can't possibly be true; that a person can be approved for PR without the medical.

Doesn't the lawyer know that the medical and police/security checks are part of the last stage, after AIP, but before approval?

You are right that could be a problem if the PR is approved, it could be an obstacle.

I did he told me to go on the interview and tell them what ever they need to know. They maybe there is something missing or they wanna verified informations, but usuly when they get that tipe of letter is not a bad thing.
But I stress so much now, because nobody has been in my situation
